What are the CE requirements for renewing an Alabama water operator certificate?

WATER

To renew your Alabama water operator certification(s) you must:

  1. Attain the required number of Continuing Education Hours (CEH) described in ADEM's Division 10 regulation:
    • Operators with one water certificate must demonstrate 24 continuing education hours (CEH) of actual training in the water field.
    • Operators with more than one certificate must obtain 15 continuing education hours (CEH) of training in the proper field for each certificate for the renewal period.
  2. Complete & send a renewal application and nonrefundable fee for certification renewal to ADEM at least thirty days prior to the expiration date of the certificate to be renewed.
  3. Once your application and renewal fee are received, your application will be processed, and if approved a renewal certificate will be issued to you.

Courses approved by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management (ADEM).

State Of Alabama Water Operator License Renewal Deadlines

  • The license renewal deadline is based on the license issue date, every three years.
