California Water Operator Continuing Education

What are the CE requirements for California water operators?

DRINKING WATER

The continuing education requirements to renew a California water operator certificate are as follows:

  • T4 & T5 or D4 & D5 - 36 Contact Hours
  • T3 or D3 - 24 Contact Hours
  • T2 or D2 - 16 Contact Hours
  • T1 or D1 - 12 Contact Hours

Up to 25% of hours may be related to safety.

All of our courses are approved by CA SWRCB to apply to your license, regardless of grade. Select any of the drinking water courses listed above to renew your T or D certification.

State Of California Drinking Water Operator License Renewal Deadlines

  • The license renewal deadline is based on the license issue date, every three years.

 

WASTEWATER

The California Water Environment Association (CWEA) requires certificate holders to complete 12 contact hours every two years. 

  • 12 hours of continuing education required every 2 years.
