This course will provide a basic understanding of electrical concepts a water operator may need in the course of their career. Students who take this course will learn about:

  • Basic Electrical Concepts - Learn the difference between direct current and alternating current, the purpose resistors and transformers, and the definitions of voltage, amperage, ohms, and watts.
  • Electrical Components of a SCADA - Educate yourself on the various components of a Supervisory Control and data Acquisition System

Tony holds an upper management position with a large water district in Southern California. Tony is a Subject Matter Expert in the field of drinking water distribution and holds a treatment 5 certificate and a distribution 5 certificate.

    The course was really great. The only suggestion would be to break-up the text a little. More white space would help as I took notes and worked calculations. It would help me come back to the spot I was at more easily.
