What are the CE requirements for Massachusetts water operators?

DRINKING WATER

Drinking water operators in Massachusetts are required to complete 5-20 training contact hours (TCHs), depending on license type, every two years in order to renew their license.

The deadline for renewal is December 31st, every odd-numbered year.

  • VSS and VND Operators = 5 hours
  • Grade 1 and Grade 2 Operators = 10 hours
  • Grade 3 Operators = 15 hours
  • Grade 4 Operators = 20 hours
  • No more than 50% of required hours can be dedicated to safety-related topics. 

Courses approved by the Board of Certification of Operators of Drinking Water Supply Facilities.

 

WASTEWATER

Massachusetts Wastewater Operators are required to complete 20 continuing education hours (TCHs) every two years for renewal.

License Renewal Deadline: December 31st, every odd year.

Licensees can take a maximum of 10 hours on safety related topics.
