Kentucky’s water infrastructure presents unique challenges — from aging lines in historic communities to access issues in remote, elevated regions. This course explores how pipeline safety standards are applied to protect both environmental quality and public health, especially in areas where clean water access is more difficult to maintain.

Learners will also gain insight into how local utilities and federal regulators work together to oversee system safety. Practical maintenance examples show what professionals can expect in the field, whether it’s repairing weather-worn systems or updating outdated materials.

Interactive knowledge checks throughout the course help reinforce key topics. There is no final exam.
